Schoolyard

Helsinki lockdown sound recorded by Petri Kuljuntausta.

"The Schoolyard documents the changes in my neighborhood after Coronavirus arrived to Helsinki, Finland, in March 2020. The first part of the soundscape piece was recorded during playtime on a regular schoolday in March 2019.

"The latter part is recorded exactly one year later in 2020 on the same day, exactly at the same place and at the same time of the day. Some vehicles pass the place in both recordings but passing busses are empty and all human voices has disappeared from the schoolyard in 2020 recording.

"I made this short work to study the changes of the environment at the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic."
