FVP Riek Machar announces first COVID-19 case in South Sudan

South Sudan has confirmed its first case of COVID-19. The patient is a 29 year old female who arrived in the country from the Netherlands via Addis Ababa on 28th February 2020.
She is currently in isolation and responding well to treatment. The Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO) are tracing all people who were in contact with the case and reinforcing preventive measures.
Deputy Chairperson of the COVID-19 national task-force First Riek Machar announced the case to journalists in Juba on Sunday morning.
