Women in Parliament 100 years on — Why Haven’t We Reached Equality?

Nov 20, 2018, 05:52 PM

Jessica McVay is joined by Labour MP Caroline Flint and Higginson Strategy Partner Clodagh Higginson to discuss the state of equality in parliament 100 years after women gained the right to stand as candidates.
Caroline talked about progress she’s seen since becoming an MP in 1997 and ways that parliament could become more inclusive. Clodagh spoke about her experience being The Sun’s first ever parliamentary correspondent and ways in which the media treats female politicians differently to their male counterparts and why this hinders progress.
This podcast was brought to you by Higginson Strategy, the London based communications agency that works with organisations that do good.
