Palma Yacht Crew Vlogs: Guest Sophia Avnilov from Israeli Marine Innovation Association
Season 1, Episode 15, Apr 20, 2020, 05:00 PM
#YELLOWFORSAILING. The Israeli Marine Innovation Association is asking sailors and boaters the world over to take a photo of themselves with either the Q flag or something yellow and upload on your favorite social media account with #YELLOWFORSAILING.
"Express your love and longing for the sea, your support in global health for all living beings and the hope for a better future!"
Sophia explains the history of the Q flag, the original meaning and what it means to ocean lovers the world over today!
The earliest known flying of the Q flag was in the early 18th century, and was originally meant to signify that the vessel was marked as having an infectious disease and was under quarantine, today however, the flags meaning has changed and now means "My ship is healthy and I require the free practice."
Let's all get our there and take a photo with ANYTHING yellow, as sure that some don't have the Q flag lying around, and upload to your favorite social media with #YELLOWFORSAILING and make it viral!!! We will all be healthy and back on the water soon!
