'If Chelsea didn't win that game, we might've seen a Leeds-type scenario'

Season 3, Episode 121,   Apr 24, 2020, 09:59 AM

As the lockdown in the UK and many other countries continues, we’ve decided to have some fun on the pod with no football in sight. Each week we’ll be revisiting an iconic game or player (past or present) from the Premier League era.

This week we look at the game that brought Chelsea into big time. The £20m game between the London side and Liverpool on the final game of the 2003 season at Stamford Bridge. The winners would claim the final Champions League spot. It didn’t start well for Chelsea but ended with a certain Russian buying them the following day.
