A South Sudanese youth activist has told the UN Security Council that young people should be at the heart of peace and security efforts in his country. 
 
Gatwal Augustine Gatkuoth Yul made the comments at a special open video teleconference to discuss the crucial role young people have in peace and security around the world. 
 
Gatwal outlined progress in youth inclusion in the South Sudan peace process, but said young people continue to face barriers to political, social and economic processes.
