The UK Government’s Access To Work scheme is there to help people with disabilities into the work place, or retain their job should there be a change in their health.
The system helps to pay for things like assistive technology, work place accessibility, travel to work and even the cost of a support worker.
However, since we went into lockdown, many ATW customers have had problems using the service for invoice payments, new applications and guidance.
RNIB Connect Radio’s Allan Russell spoke to Phil Ambler, Pocklington Trust, who chairs a panel of charities, including RNIB, to learn how they are working with ATW to make improvements and he told us about some changes that are now in place for things like invoicing.
