UNOPS assures of strict accountability on World Bank’s grant to South Sudan

The World Bank has approved USD 40 million to provide income support to 65,000 households in South Sudan.
A $40 million grant from the World Bank’s International Development Association will fund a two and half years Project to provide income support to nearly 430 000 low income South Sudanese.
United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), which are the implementing partner, says the grant will receive high levels of accountability in its implementation.
UNOPS country representative in South Sudan Peter Mutoredlanwa says the project will initially be restricted to Juba before spreading to other parts of the country, due to the covid19 crisis
