Taking Stock: Sensex, Nifty erase gains to close flat; what should investors do?

Indian markets wiped out gains on Monday to close in the red despite positive trend seen in other Asian markets. The S&P BSE Sensex took a knock of more than 700 points from the highs while the Nifty50 failed to hold on to 9250 levels towards the close.  
 
 Let’s look at the final tally on D-Street – the S&P BSE Sensex fell 81 points to 31,561 while the Nifty50 closed 12 points lower at 9239.
