808 Take

Mexican lockdown sound reimagined by Bassling.

"It was fascinating to hear the trumpet and drum beat traveling around the city. There are only a few times of the year when you'd hear a musical performance on the streets in my town. I enjoyed the sense that musicians were connecting people and sharing their energy.

"That sense of energy was something I wanted to amplify and I thought the sound of a drum on the street should be an 808. Otherwise all of the parts come from the original recording, using Live's Sampler to isolate and manipulate a few notes to create a bigger horn section."
