Three Quarantine Mirages

May 22, 2020, 10:16 AM

Californian lockdown sound reimagined by John Roach.

"At first I was drawn to these sounds, recorded by Nathan Moody, because they were captured in Northern California where I grew up, geographically and mentally far away from Queens NY, the Covid capital of the USA, where I reside now.  Doing some research I learned that the recordist is also a hiker and so I've imagined an early evening trek in which the lone protagonist loses his way. Voices emerge. Auditory Mirages.

"Side note: the field recordings of insects were recorded in 2015 in Brescia (Pontevico) the hard-hit Covid capital of Italy."
