LISTEN: Rizwan Chohan has been volunteering during lockdown after being put on furlough - 29/05/2020

Episode 56,   May 29, 2020, 05:00 AM

We've been hearing about what life's been like living on furlough for a Kent man - two months since the government launched it's coronavirus job retention scheme. Rizwan Chohan was working at the Nissan branch in Medway when he became one of millions across the country to be told he'd be temporarily laid off - while seeing 80% of his wages covered. The 55 year-old from Rochester has been spending his time volunteering with the Kent Muslim Welfare Association since then, helping people with things like shopping if they've had to self-isolate.
