The Ministry of Environment says transformative actions are urgently needed to preserve nature and save lives. The Undersecretary in the Ministry, Joseph Africano Bartel makes the comments as South Sudan joins the rest of the world to mark World Environment Day today, to draw attention to the need to sustainably use biodiversity for human survival and socio-economic development. Bartel says collective action is needed to protect the country’s rich natural resources, including forests and water bodies which are under threat from human activity.
