The National Dialogue Steering committee has announced plans to hold the national dialogue conference.
A meeting between the steering committee and the secretariat held in Juba agreed that the steering committee should go ahead with plans to hold the one-week conference in Juba, with six hundred delegates from across the country.
The secretariat unanimously resolved that the steering committee makes the preparations following guidelines set by the national taskforce on COVID-19 and the national Ministry of Health.
The national dialogue conference was due to be held in Juba in April but was suspended with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Salva Kiir launched the national dialogue initiative in 2017 to open up avenues to discuss political, social and economic problems and also offer a platform for reconciliation and healing.
The Deputy coordinator for the dialogue secretariat, Daniel Akau says a date for the conference will be communicated in due course.
He spoke to Radio Miraya in this 5” interview.
