RF Podcast Episode 15: UK Ambassador to Norway Richard Wood

Season 1,   Aug 08, 2020, 08:00 AM

Welcome back to the Renaissance Foundation Podcast,

A Podcast about inspiration, made by the young people at our youth charity

Every year Renaissance Foundation takes a group of young people to Norway for the Nobel Peace prize. We learn about the prize's history, bring young people to attend the ceremony and for the last 2 years we've held an event at the Ambassador's residence in Norway, to share what we've learned with our Norwegian partners. Unfortunately due to the current global circumstances it looks like that's not an option for us this year.

So we are extremely happy we got the chance to catch up with a good friend of RF. The UK Ambassador to Norway Richard Wood. It was really nice to hear from him about how covid has impacted the work he has been doing but also nice of him to share his career journey with us and tell us about what it was like working in South Africa with Nelson Mandela

He also shared a funny story with us involving the queens breakfast

Thank you so much for speaking with us Richard, we really miss Oslo, and by talking to us it made us feel a bit closer to Norway.

Thank you to all the staff at the UK embassy for making this call possible. Thanks to the hard working RF staff for planning it and the amazing young people for getting involved.
