SRSG David Shearer addresses press conference in Juba

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, David Shearer says increase in resurgence in parts of Central Equatoria State is disturbing.

Mr. Shearer cited recent road ambushes on Yei-Larsu roads as posing threat to humanitarian operations in the area. 

On Tuesday, six civilians were killed and four injured by forces reportedly belonging to NAS.

He says this week UNMISS set up a temporary base at Lobonok County to deter further attacks on civilians in the areas.

Shearer says for total recovery to happen in greater Jonglei, the conflict must stop.
