TROIKA nations call for more efforts on peace implementation

As South Sudan marks two years since the signing of the Agreement of on the Resolution of conflict in the country this Saturday,  the TROIKA countries of United States, United Kingdom and Norway are calling on the Revitalized Transitional government of National Unity to reinforce efforts in the implementation of the peace agreement. 

The special envoys of United Kingdom, United States and Norway arrived in Juba this week and has held discussions with the President, First Vice President and other government officials  on how to  support and move forward the peace process.

UK special envoy for Sudan and South Sudan Bob Fairweather has called for courage and unity among the country’s leaders and citizens in implementing the peace agreement. 
Mr Fairweather commends progress in the peace process but says more needs to be done to ensure peace and stability is realized in the country .
For his part, the US Special envoy Steward Skimmington called on the parties to recommit to the cessation of hostilities agreement and responsible decisions and actions in interest of peace.
