Cass Sunstein - Understanding What You DON'T Want to Know in (and out of) a Pandemic

Season 1, Episode 43,   Sep 16, 2020, 01:50 PM

CASS SUNSTEIN is the Robert Walmsley University Professor at Harvard Law School, his work is read at the highest level of government in the US and the UK and yet is accessible to anyone who wants original, memorable insights (OMI) on how and why public policy works.
He co-authored the ground-breaking NUDGE with Richard Thaler – a favourite of the Cameron administration – and his latest work Too Much Information, Understanding What You Don’t Want To Know, is a timely examination of the impact of information on our health, wealth and wellbeing.
At a time when every government around the world is managing the daily ebb and flow of data about the same global pandemic, Richard and Cass discuss how much information we need to know in order to protect our welfare and improve our lives.

In this episode Richard Kilgarriff shares OMI with Cass Sunstein - the former White House advisor to Barak Obama and now Chair of the World Health Organization’s Technical Advisory Group on Behavioural Insights. He wants us to re-think the way we demand, consume and generate information and knowledge about ourselves and the world around us.
