Remembering Johnny

Apr 23, 2012, 06:13 PM

Johnny Ward was one of the most distinguished figures practising law in the north west with a career spanning seven decades. He died peacefully at home in the arms of his beloved wife, Marion, on the morning of the 20th of April 2012. At his funeral, his daughter, Kathryn, recalled her thoughts on what made this gentle giant of a man so special, and why we all should cherish our own memories and times with him. May he rest in peace.

'Never more will the wind cherish you again, never more will the rain.

Never more shall we find you bright in the snow and wind.

The snow is melted, the snow is gone, and you are flown:

Like a bird out of our hand, like a light out of our heart, you are gone'.
