Taking Stock: Nifty back above 11,700; small & midcaps underperform

Indian market held on to gains on Wednesday despite negative global cues after the U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly called off talks with Democratic lawmakers on the coronavirus relief legislation until after the election. 
 
 Indian market rallied for the fifth consecutive day in a row pushing the benchmark indices towards crucial resistance levels.
