Competitive woodchopping has been part of the Tasmanian agricultural show scene for more than 100 years.
With the cancellation of most of the state's shows this season due to COVID-19 crowd number restrictions, around half of the woodchopping season will also be lost.
However, a number of smaller alternative chopping carnivals will be staged this summer.
