Season 1, Episode 47,   Feb 12, 2020, 01:22 AM

John Mengelt came to Auburn to play basketball from Elwood, Indiana. When he left Indianapolis on his recruiting visit, it was snowing. When he stepped foot on the Auburn campus it was 70 degrees. He had more division one offers to play football than basketball. Mengelt turned into an All American guard at Auburn. His name is still prominent in the record books, some 50 years after his college career. He played for Cincinnati, Kansas City-Omaha, Detroit and Chicago in the NBA. Mengelt spent 20 years calling games in the NBA and college. He built a successful career as a search consultant. Mengelt and his wife, Linda, whom he met at Auburn, have moved back to the plains. 50 years ago Valentine's night, Mengelt torched Alabama for a school record 60 points. This record may never be broken. John Mengelt is featured in this Talking Tigers Podcast, presented by Wickles Pickles.
