Norwegian Amb: Government should ensure that teachers get a decent salary on time to avoid affecting children’s education

The government of Norway has signed an agreement worth USD 10 million, to support a safe return to school for children in South Sudan in 2020-2021.
Speaking to Miraya breakfast this morning, Norwegian Ambassador to South Sudan said government should invest more in the education sector to ensure that teachers get a decent salary on time to avoid affecting children’s education.
Ambassador Siv Kasprasa says the donor community can only do as much and urged the government the of South Sudan to play its role and invest in the education of the children.
And UNICEF communications specialist Helen Sandbu Ryeng says her organization will ensure that the money is well accounted for. Ryeng says her organization will engage parents of the school going children to ensure that the children get a balanced support towards education.
