A national human rights organization dealing in access to justice has embarked on a project to compile a record of positive judgements of sexual and gender-based violence cases in the country.
‘Advocates Without Borders’ has received funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to document the cases.
The organizations program coordinator, Philip Anyang says the full compilation is expected to be completed by mid-next month.
“It will be used as a reference point for the Ministry of Justice, legal practitioners and other stakeholders,” said Anyang.
The project comes timely as we observe the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women that also marks the start of the 16th days of activism against sexual and gender-based violence.
The campaign runs till Human Rights Day on the 10th of December.
