For many blind and partially sighted people, breaking into the world of employment can be extremely difficult because of outdated stereotypes and lack of understanding around assistive technology.
UK sight loss charity RNIB runs a very successful project in Northern Ireland, called Eye Work Too, which aims to change perceptions.
It not only gives 1 to 1 support to visually impaired job seekers, it also works with employers to show how valuable blind and partially sighted workers really are.
RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Clare Dixon, RNIB Northern Ireland, and Diane Marks, who has secured full time employment after accessing the service.
If you live in Northern Ireland and would like more information on the Eye Work Too project, email employmentteamni@rnib.org.uk
