Veep Igga: Take advantage of technology for development

Vice President for economic cluster, James Wani Igga says South Sudan should take advantage of technology to reduce inequality and create incentives in order to bring development. He was speaking at the launch of the Global Human Development Report for this year 2020 in Juba on Wednesday. South Sudan is ranked 185 out of 189 countries, corresponding to a life expectancy of 57.9 years, expected years of schooling averaged at 5 years, and gross national income per capita of just over 2,000 US dollars. Wani Igga says there need to enhance education in the Country.
Speaking at the same event, Economic Advisor for the United Nations Development Program UNDP – South Sudan, Fatmata Loveta Sesay said there is need to enhance the capability of the human resources as the basis for the development of the country other than relying entirely on natural resources. Loveta said activities that humans carryout need to be transformed.
Global Human Development Report was launched by the United Nations Development Program UNDP and partners.
The report titled; The Next Frontier: Human Development and the Anthropocene, focused on three main things which include: life expectancy, education and GDP per capita or income.
