To promote the benefits of audio description this Christmas to blind and partially sighted people and a wider audience, Countdown's Rachel Riley will be voicing the audio description for the Christmas Bake Off on Channel 4.
RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey caught up with Marie Campbell from Red Bee who worked on the audio description that Rachel Riley voiced and Sonali Rai, RNIB Broadcast and Audio Description manager to find out more.
Sonali talks about the amount of audio description on TV, why it is important for celebs like Rachel Riley to be involved in promoting the benefits of audio description to everyone and Marie chatted about writing description for Bake Off, adding in a bit of Countdown into Rachel’s description script and whether Marie did get to described that famous Paul Hollywood handshake!

Christmas Bake Off with Rachel Riley voicing the audio description will be on Channel 4, Christmas Eve at 7.40pm and then available on All 4, Channel 4’s catch up service.
