In general, 2020 may have been a crap year. Here at the RAM offices the year will be a memorable one for the number of awesome artists that gave us a moment of their time. We’re going to keep the Crazy Train on the right track this year starting with this week’s legendary “Creature Feature”. The influence of the mighty Diamond Head is undeniable. Being one of the NWOBHM originals, DH are no doubt your fave band’s fave band. In ’20, the band payed homage to their illustrious past while simultaneously ushering the band into the future. “Lightning To The Nations 2020” is a re-recording of their legendary debut and it’s one of the few that actually works. Mainman Mr. Brian Tatler himself was eager to share his thoughts. After we got reacquainted, we discussed all the whys and wherefores of the new album. As well as the NWOBHM in general. Past and present. Diamonds Are Forever! In our “News, Views, and Tunes”, we discuss Loudwire’s 88 Anticipated Albums of ’21, Decibel’s annual Top 40 and vinyl overtaking CDs for the first time in the SoundScan era. Musically, we crank said Head record plus cool stuff from Sacrifice, Raven, Angel Witch, Blitzkrieg, Municipal Waste, Dropdead, Of Feather And Bone, Heretical Sect and we introduce Swedish trad metallers Century in our “Indie Spotlight”. Horns Up and Stay Healthy all 2021!
