The Wellbeing Project: Transitioning with Former Yacht Chef Lauren

Season 2, Episode 55,   Feb 10, 2021, 06:00 AM

In this interview with Lauren, we discuss how you can find your career purpose and the reality of leaving the industry and transitioning into a land base role. A raw and honest discussion that will no doubt leave you feeling inspired.
“After seven amazing, tiring and adventurous years of working in the galley and travelling the world on various yachts, I began to think about what would come next. After all, yachting isn't always a forever job. Being a chef, I always knew my next move would be something that tied in my flare for cooking with my primary goal of making people happy - notably through food, creating plates with love and sharing my passion with others. An opportunity came my way to turn my dreams into reality and I am now the proud owner of a coffee shop on the main high street of a little countryside town in Surrey. The daunting reality of chasing your dreams has certainly come to light during the testing times of starting out during a global pandemic, but as I've quickly come to learn, dealing with the curveballs as they are thrown as us is all a part of creating strong building blocks for any new business”.
