If you're a seasoned Podcast Listener - this podcast is going to be different from most you listen to.  It's based around exactly what the name implies - Warehouse Safety Tips.  And since the people in that industry are busy - we know time is money, so each episode will be as short and to the point as possible.

And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast!

Many of the tips we share on this Podcast have the same elements in common.  Those elements are paying attention, being aware of your surroundings, and slowing down.

Today we're giving tips on First Aid - and the above-mentioned elements are definitely part of the topic.

Paying attention is what everyone should be doing to avoid accidents and the need for First Aid in general.  Will it prevent ALL accidents?  No - but it's a great part of avoiding them!

If an accident does occur - it's time to be aware of your surroundings.  When it comes to needing First Aid - sometimes you'll need it and sometimes you might be assisting a fellow staff member with it.  But one thing is for sure.  NEITHER will be getting it if you're unaware of where it is.  Chances are your First Aid Station(s) will be clearly marked with a First Aid Safety Sign which will usually be Red or Green.  And unless it's a simple item (Such as an Aspirin or Bandaid) - it goes without saying that you should alert Management to any injuries.

The last tip is part of Accident Prevention and First Aid - and that's slowing down.  If you take things slow AND pay attention in general - many accidents will be avoided.  But when an accident does occur - calmer heads MUST prevail.  You have to know the procedures of your facility, who needs to be alerted, emergency numbers, the location of equipment, and what needs attention the most - and it all needs to be done rapidly but slowly/systematically as well.  Your actions during an accident - as either the one injured or the one helping them - can make major differences.

If you remember the first part of First Aid as overall safety - hopefully, these three tips help your Days Since An Injury Board Numbers go higher and higher.
