Armed men attack polio vaccination team in Rumbek North county

A polio vaccination campaign has been suspended in Rumbek North county, Lakes state after a vehicle carrying a team of vaccinators was attacked. 

Armed men opened fire on the vehicle that was commissioned by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to deliver vaccines.  

Five people including a woman and a police escort were killed, and six others injured. 

Sunday’s attack brings the death toll on Rumbek-Maper Road since the start of this year to 13.
