Episode 1502,   Mar 08, 2021, 06:43 AM

Peace talks between the government and hold-out opposition groups resume today in Naivasha, Kenya.

The talks under the mediation of the Sant-Egidio community of Italy, will be between the government delegation, the South Sudan United Front of General Paul Malong and the Real SPLM led by Pagan Amum.

The discussions will last five days and will focus on the root causes of the conflict. The leader of the government delegation, Barnaba Marial Benjamin told Radio Miraya that the delegates will have an open and honest dialogue with the aim of resolving the crisis.

The venue of the talks with the hold-out groups was shifted from Rome to Naivasha due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Discussions failed to resume last month after some government delegates tested positive for Covid-19 in Juba.

Radio Miraya's Nelson Lwak spoke to Marial Benjamin in this 5" interview.
