Government, Opposition Talks in Naivasha: Implications and Way Forward

The government of South Sudan and the South Sudan Opposition Movements Alliance (SSOMA) faction led by General Paul Malong and Pa’gan Amum signed a Declaration of Principles agreement one week ago after four days of intensive negotiations in Naivasha, Kenya and facilitated by the Rome-based Sant'Egidio Community.

The 15-point document signed by both parties highlights issues ranging from land administration, constitutionalism, federalism, good governance, rule of law, proper management of state resources, among others.
