The Bank of England New £50 Note with Tactile Markings

This summer on 23 June The Bank of England will be introducing a new £50 note into circulation. The bank of England and the RNIB have worked together to ensure that the new note is accessible for blind and partially sighted people. 

Connect Radio’s Toby Davey was joined by Sarah John from The Bank of England to explain a bit more about the new £50 note.

Sarah explained how The Bank of England and the RNIB have worked together to ensure that the new £50 note is accessible to visually impaired people through the tactile markings and other features that make the new note accessible and easy to denominate. Sarah also shares why they decided to feature Allan Turing on the new £50 banknote.
