Our weekly catch up with RNIB CEO Matt Stringer to share some of the latest news and projects coming from the UK sight loss organisation.
This week Matt and Connect Radio’s Toby Davey look forward to the next financial year with some key messages from the RNIB Business Plan, with lifting of some Coronavirus lockdown restrictions, the new RNIB Coming Out of Lockdown campaign, Matt and Toby talk about some of the challenges that blind and partially sighted people face as we come out of lockdown and how the campaign can help to support visually impaired people by asking the public to maintain space, be patient and offer help and finally with the announcement from The Bank of England of the introduction into circulation on 23 June 2021 of the new £50 banknote.
Matt explains how the RNIB and The Bank of England have worked together to ensure that new banknotes continue to be accessible for blind and partially sighted people.
