Today’s show worked out where we are highlighting the efforts of former & current student-athletes!
Thanks to Open Hands Overflowing Hearts, we’ll begin the show by talking with Cody Markle, founder and executive director of Turner's Heroes. To give you some background, Cody & Turner Cockrell were football teammates at Vanderbilt University. While a student, Turner was diagnosed with melanoma and passed away at age 21. Cody went to Turner’s family about an idea to start a pediatric patient support non-profit based in Nashville, Tennessee, in honor of Turner and the family was onboard.
After my conversation with Cody, as the Official Difference Making Partner of UNA Athletics, I will be talking with North Alabama Athletics student-athlete, Maggie Sullivan! Maggie is president of the Student Athlete Advisory committee at UNA. Maggie will be sharing about their committee’s efforts to make a difference in the community despite the challenges of COVID-19.
Following my conversation with Maggie, we’ll have a brand new episode of Kyla’s Korner with Kyla Carter as she talks about why being nervous can be a good thing! After that, I’ll have the Make A Difference Minute Replay.
