A performance recorded by Helen Weinstein for the BBC Radio 4 documentary produced for Remembrance Day, "Memory Like Shells Bursting", about the experience of Norman Winchester coming to terms with his traumatic memories of fighting in World War II. The words of the veteran were shaped into a libretto and the melodies breathlessly hummed into the microphone were scorred into a piece for string quartet.
