Former UNMISS Chief shares his fond memories of South Sudan

Former Special Representative of the Secretary General to South Sudan, David Shearer says society needs to listen more to women because they are the ones who put up with the worst of some bad circumstances. 
Recalling his four years stay in South Sudan, Shearer called for extra effort towards peace in the world's youngest nation. He said the more peace becomes enduring, the less protection civilians need.
Shearer who was peaking to UN Radio’s Matt Wells from New York, began by describing the state of the world’s youngest country, when he first arrived in the capital Juba.
