The African Development Bank (AfDB) has been providing support to the government and people of South Sudan in the areas of agriculture, health, basic education, governance, water, and sanitation among others.

In February this year, the African Development Bank signed protocols to disburse a $14 million grant to the Government of South Sudan to boost agricultural markets under a project to be implemented by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In 2020, the Bank also approved a grant of USD 4.2 million to the Government of South Sudan towards the COVID19 response and the project is being implemented by WHO. Nationwide today featured AfDB Country Manager, Benedict Sorie Kanu who elaborated more on the bank's work in South Sudan.
