After our Easter break, the Film Show is back with a rundown of the Best Picture nominees for the 2021 Oscars! We're talking Sound of Metal, Promising Young Woman, Judas and the Black Messiah & Minari! Check out our previous episodes for our review of Mank too! So, we're heaping love on Riz Ahmed, Carey Mulligan, Daniel Kaluuya, Lakeith Stanfield for some breathtaking performances & talking a bit about how we tackle weighty topics in film with Promising Young Woman's approach to sexual assault and Sound of Metal's exploration of Deaf identity & substance abuse. We're back in the studio for this one so there are a few technical difficulties but we manage to survive and I reckon we've ended up with a pretty great show!
