James Comey: Clinton's Emails, Donald Trump, the FBI, & More

Episode 77,   Mar 26, 2021, 02:30 PM

Former FBI Director James Comey has received intense criticism from Democrats, Republicans, and everyone in between. Jill Wine-Banks and Victor Shi join James for a tell-all interview about his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation as FBI Director, meeting former President Donald Trump for the first time, his dinner with President Trump, his thoughts on the current political climate, and what it was like being the feature of Showtime's, "The Comey Rule."

Before being appointed FBI Director in 2013 by President Obama, James served as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and as Deputy Attorney General, both under the Bush Administration. As FBI Director, he oversaw the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails and later the ties between the Trump campaign and Russia. In May of 2017, he was fired by then-President Trump, a fact he learned about from television reports while he was speaking to agents in the Los Angeles field office. Since then, Comey has written two books: “A Higher Loyalty, Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” and “Saving Justice: Truth, Transparency, and Trust.”
