Daily Dose @ 5: UPSR abolished, PT3 cancelled for 2021, COVID-19 death toll tops 200,000 in India
Episode 186, Apr 28, 2021, 09:00 AM
Among the headlines for Wednesday, 28 April, 2021, Malaysia’s education ministry has cancelled the UPSR exams for good and the PT3 exams for this year.
Education Minister, Mohd Radzi Md Jidin announced today that PT3 examinations for the year 2021 will be cancelled due to time constraints for the students who won’t have enough time to study. The decision was made after careful discussion with the Education Ministry.
Also, India's toll from the coronavirus surged past 200,000 in the last 24-hours, the country's deadliest day, as shortages of oxygen, medical supplies and hospital staff compounded a record number of new infections.
The second wave of infections has seen at least 300,000 people test positive each day for the past week, overwhelming healthcare facilities and crematoriums and fueling an increasingly urgent international response.
