Is the housing bubble about to burst?

Episode 62,   May 05, 2021, 09:28 AM

There is some trepidation that the current real estate market feels like it did in 2006-07, right before it burst, sending the US (and entire world) into a prolonged recession. While there are some similarities to the current market and what we saw 15 years ago, there are more dissimilarities. Whereas there was a lot of easy bank money flowing before the housing market crash of 2008 and many people biting off more mortgage than they could chew, in 2021, the banks have tightened up quite a bit and much of the growth in the market is coming in the form of cash that buyers are bringing to closing. That makes a big difference in terms of what's happening now vs. 15 years ago. In this episode, Stan discusses those and other differences in the 2021 real estate market and what it means for you as a potential real estate buyer or seller.
