Daily Dose @ 5: Najib's money-laundering trial to start this Aug, FB has six months to decide if Trump returns

Among the headlines for Thursday, 6th May, 2021, Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s money-laundering trial involving RM27 million in the High Court is now scheduled to start this August instead of July.

Nur Syahirah Hanapiah, one of Najib’s lawyers said that the High Court in Kuala Lumpur had today vacated the July trial dates and maintained the August trial dates for the case.

Also, Facebook Inc's oversight board upheld the company's suspension of former US President Donald Trump but said the company was wrong to make the suspension indefinite and gave it six months to determine a "proportionate response."

The 20-member panel was created to rule on thorny content circulating on the social media site, including misinformation, hate speech and nefarious influence campaigns. It made nine decisions before Wednesday, and had tended to favor free expression over restriction.
