Campaign For Safer Rail Platforms Gains Momentum

Season 1, Episode 764,   May 07, 2021, 09:01 AM

After many accidents, and 1 death, on our train station platforms, UK sight loss charities RNIB and Guide Dogs launched a campaign to make the areas safer for blind and partially sighted commuters.

They want all platforms to have tactile markers at the edges, so visually impaired people can recognise the danger zone and stay safe.

RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Roisin Jacklin, from RNIB, Clive Wood, from Guide Dogs, and Allan Spence, from Network Rail, to find out what progress has been made so far.
