Chris Chatterton, COO, Methanol Institute

Season 2, Episode 6,   Apr 09, 2021, 11:00 AM

Following his participation in our first ship.energy summit this week, we’re pleased to welcome Chris Chatterton to this week’s podcast to discuss the case for methanol.

As the future fuels debate has evolved over the years, methanol has been keeping pace with its rivals LNG and ammonia as a low carbon alternative to diesel fuel and fuel oil for shipping. The Methanol Institute, founded in 1989, advocates for methanol as an attractive option for a range of uses, from powering ships to heating homes.

Chris joined The Methanol Institute in 2015, continuing his 20-year career in the power, oil and gas, biofuel, and chemical sectors, with key expertise in strategy, fundraising, restructuring, and operations for large and small organisations alike. With his expertise we’ll be focusing the lens on methanol and its uses and advantages, and ultimately its position within the future fuels landscape.
