Health worker shot dead during ambush in Eastern Equatoria State

A health officer working with Cordaid, an international development organization, has been shot and killed in Budi County of Eastern Equatoria State. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when the official vehicle she was travelling in was ambushed.

The deceased together with the driver were heading to Kapoeta when it came under attack at the Ngarera stream along the Chukudum-Camp 15 road, about 20 kilometers from Chukudum town.

Local authorities are yet to establish further details surrounding the case. 

The Executive Director of Budi County, Alfred Odong, confirmed the incident to radio Miraya
