For those who are in the know, and perhaps more importantly for those that aren’t, Amelia Earhart has one talent on her resume that is not widely known or circulated. Poet. Using the art of poetry to often express her most intimate thoughts, Amelia Earhart would reach generations with her words as much as her flying. On episode 24 of the Chasing Earhart podcast, we sit down with poet and author Heidi Greco to Discuss her book “Flightpaths: The Lost Journals of Amelia Earhart”. Using poetry to give us an intimate and extraordinary look at the woman herself, Heidi discusses Amelia’s life, disappearance and most intimate thoughts through a collection of poems aimed at giving the reader a brand-new way to look at Amelia the woman.
The poems in this collection, presented as if written by Earhart herself, consider some of the many theories that attempt to explain her disappearance. Through logbook entries, recollections and letters, the work explores some of the various flightpaths she may have taken through the eyes and words of the woman herself.
