The US Navy has four public shipyards: Norfolk NavalShipyard (NNSY), Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY), Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS&IMF), and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF).   China has more, and its navy is rapidly headed o surpassed theUS Navy.
