MODEL 3 GETS PERFECT 5 STAR SAFETY RATING

  • Tesla'S Model 3 has been awarded a five-star rating by the U.S. auto safety agency NHTSA, according to its website, saying here that the car had no recalls, investigations or complaints.
  • "This means all of Tesla's production vehicles have received a perfect rating from the agency. Both the larger Tesla Model S sedan and the Model X sport utility vehicle have received 5-star ratings from the agency as well. The Model 3 electric sedan has received some high safety ratings from other groups as well. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the car a "superior" rating in its front crash prevention test." reported CNBC
  • Frontal Crash: "Combines Driver and Passenger star ratings into a single frontal rating. The frontal barrier test simulates a head-on collision between two similar vehicles, each moving at 35 mph"
  • Overall Side: "Combines Side Barrier and Side Pole Star Ratings into a single side rating."
  • Rollover: "The Rollover Resistance test measures the risk of rollover in a single-vehicle, loss-of-control scenario."

  • Thomas Ulbrich, Volkswagen's board member for e-mobility, told reporters here in Dresden, Germany. ""There is no decision done so far. We think there's a natural fit to Chattanooga, but there's no planning done so far."
  • "Volkswagen already builds the e-Golf electric car in plants in Wolfsburg and Dresden. Next year, it will begin converting the massive Zwickau plant in Germany from building only internal-combustion vehicles to building only all-electric ones. From the end of 2020, Zwickau will have the capacity to produce as many as 330,000 EVs per year."

ELECTRIC COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

  • "Europe’s largest commercial vehicles show - had better change its name to E-AA. Almost every OEM in every LCV segment is flipping the switch towards electric propulsion. Another phenomenon that is no longer a phenomenon: smart logistics and telematics." says a very impressed Global Fleet.com: "Every OEM seems aware of the booming business that is e-commerce and the effects it has on their industry. Dense city traffic, lack of parking spaces, low-emission zones are challenges that lead to new concepts involving local hubs where packages are redistributed and taken to their destination by agile and flexible means of transport. Like e-bikes, for instance."
  • There was the Ford Transit, Renault Autonomous Pods, Mercedes Vision Urbanetic, VW with the eCrafter and Mercedes with eSprinter, that crazy good VW BUZZ CARGO, and the Chinese Maxus EV80.
